This framework is crucial for supporting operational efficiency, optimizing cost management, and ensuring service excellence across the entire airline and its Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO).

This expansive role encompasses core functions including procurement, inventory management, logistics, vendor relationship management, and regulatory compliance. The ultimate objective is to guarantee the uninterrupted, timely availability of essential aircraft parts, materials, tools, equipment, and related services. This ensures robust support for all aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities, thereby minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate will possess profound expertise in the complexities of the aviation supply chain, coupled with demonstrated strong leadership acumen and significant practical experience navigating stringent international regulatory compliance standards (e.g., EASA, FAA, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following strategic and operational duties:

  • Strategy and Optimization:
    • Developing and implementing high-impact strategies designed to elevate tactical and operational services and achieve measurable cost savings.
    • Overseeing inventory planning and control for all aircraft parts, components, consumables, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
    • Optimizing logistics, distribution networks, and implementing Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery models to enhance efficiency.
    • Monitoring industry trends and innovations to maintain a competitive and resilient airline supply chain.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Leading and managing multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams encompassing procurement, warehousing, logistics, inventory, and contracts management.
    • Facilitating comprehensive coaching and mentoring programs within the department and actively participating in crucial process improvement projects.
  • Sourcing and Vendor Management:
    • Managing strategic sourcing initiatives and leading high-stakes contract negotiations with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) providers, and other critical suppliers.
    • Establishing and nurturing long-term strategic supplier relationships and defining rigorous Service-Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Continuously monitoring supplier performance, ensuring ongoing compliance, and proactively managing supply chain risk.
    • Conducting detailed market research to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensuring meticulous record-keeping and complete traceability of all materials and components.
    • Collaborating closely with Quality Assurance to effectively manage material non-conformances and product recalls.
    • Ensuring all activities strictly adhere to established organizational policies and procedures, keeping long-term strategic objectives in mind.
    • Upholding the consistent implementation of quality, safety, and security policies and procedures across all supply chain operations.
    • Ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, guidelines for handling hazardous goods, and international trade controls.
  • Financial and Operational Control:
    • Developing and rigorously controlling the annual budget allocated to the Supply Chain Unit.
    • Prioritizing the timely availability of materials to decisively prevent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) scenarios.
    • Supervising proper warehousing practices and comprehensive logistics management.
  • General Duties:
    • Undertaking any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Technical Director.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this prestigious position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field. A Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MSc) degree is strongly preferred.
