Role Description: Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer will be entrusted with managing the full procurement life cycle for local auxiliary and packaging materials. This critical function requires a professional who can blend strategic supplier development with meticulous operational execution. The primary goal of this role is to secure a stable, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain that meets the stringent demands of agro-chemical manufacturing.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Strategic Supplier Development: Developing a robust base of local suppliers for auxiliary and packaging materials within Nigeria. This includes the crucial task of establishing a comprehensive supplier list and conducting regular, objective evaluations to ensure performance and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Quality Assurance and Incident Management: Inspecting and formally accepting incoming goods to ensure strict adherence to established factory quality standards. The officer will also be required to manage and resolve non-conforming product incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Systematically collecting and updating all necessary qualification and regulatory documents from local suppliers, ensuring a complete and current archive. These critical documents must be submitted to the procurement clerk for accurate file-keeping and audit readiness.
  • Cost Management and Negotiation: Regularly engaging with core suppliers through site visits and scheduled meetings to monitor and track price fluctuations. Particular attention must be paid to cost changes influenced by economic factors, such as the Naira's depreciation. This includes negotiating procurement unit prices and striving for favorable payment terms to maximize cost savings for the company.
  • Order Fulfillment and Logistics: Placing precise procurement orders for local auxiliary and packaging materials based on dynamic production requirements. The officer must actively track both the financial payment progress and the material production schedules to guarantee accurate and on-time delivery of materials to the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates interested in this challenging and rewarding position are expected to possess relevant qualifications commensurate with the demands of a professional procurement function. A demonstrated track record of success in supplier management, negotiation, and supply chain logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or technical environment, will be highly advantageous.


Compensation and Application Process

The company offers a competitive salary range of N150,000 to N250,000 Monthly.
