Role Overview

Seven-Up Bottling Company is actively seeking to recruit experienced Sales Representatives for a contract position. The successful candidates will be instrumental in executing the company’s distribution strategy, ensuring that the right product is available in the right place, at the right time, in the correct quantity, and at the optimal price. This role is central to driving sales volume, maintaining market presence, and fostering productive customer and channel relationships.

Key Responsibilities

The Sales Representative will be expected to perform the following core duties:

  • Strategy Development: Planning and developing sales strategies that effectively balance the expectations of customers with the overall objectives of the company.
  • Market Analysis & Planning: Analyzing sales figures, monitoring customer reactions, and tracking market trends to accurately anticipate product needs and plan appropriate product ranges and stock levels.
  • Financial Forecasting: Forecasting profits and sales volumes, and planning corresponding budgets.
  • Inventory and Promotion Management: Monitoring stock movement closely and considering appropriate markdowns, promotions, price changes, and clear-out activities.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining constructive relationships with customers, and collaborating effectively with channel partners to build sales pipelines and successfully close deals.
  • Industry Expertise: Remaining up to date with the industry's best practices, sales techniques, and market dynamics.
  • Collaboration and Negotiation: Collaborating closely with distributors and the internal sales team to negotiate competitive prices, quantities, and delivery time-scales.
  • Merchandising and Display: Maximizing customer interest and sales levels by ensuring products are displayed appropriately and effectively at points of sale.
  • Store Execution: Producing layout plans for stores and meticulously maintaining store shelves and inventory levels to ensure optimal product visibility and stock availability.

Required Qualifications and Skills

The company seeks candidates who possess a blend of formal education, relevant sales experience, and strong commercial and interpersonal skills.

  • Minimum Qualification: A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) qualification is required.
  • Relevant Experience: Direct working experience in the sales of Beverage products is essential.
  • Creativity and Campaigning: The candidate must be highly creative, with demonstrated experience in identifying target audiences and devising sales campaigns that successfully engage, inform, and motivate consumers.
  • Industry Knowledge: The ability to remain up-to-date with the latest sales trends, technologies, and best practices is mandatory.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for effective internal and external interaction.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Strong listening, presentation, and decision-making skills are crucial for success in the field.
