Admin Support Staff at Malaria Consortium

Malaria Consortium (MC) is recognized as a premier non-profit organization singularly focused on the prevention, control, and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases across Africa and Southeast Asia. The organization’s work involves deep collaboration with communities, governmental bodies, academic institutions, and both local and international partners to successfully deliver public health interventions that are grounded in evidence. The technical proficiency of Malaria Consortium is instrumental in reinforcing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, thereby facilitating well-informed decision-making, strategic planning, and the overarching enhancement of health systems. These efforts collectively contribute significantly to the reduction of poverty and the achievement of sustainable economic development in the regions served.

🌟 Project Background: SARMAAN-II Expansion

In line with the continuing expansion of the Safety and Antimicrobial Resistance Mass Administration of Azithromycin (SARMAAN) project, the implementation scope is being extended to encompass Adamawa and Gombe States in Nigeria. This critical health intervention involves the biannual administration of Azithromycin to children within the 0–59 months age bracket during the peak malaria transmission season. The project specifically targets geographical areas identified as having elevated infant mortality rates. To ensure comprehensive support for the forthcoming campaign across all Local Government Areas (LGAs) within both Adamawa and Gombe States, the engagement of dedicated support personnel is deemed necessary.

💼 Position: Admin Support Staff

Job Title: Admin Support Staff

Location: Gombe

Assignment Duration: (This will be a short-term, temporary engagement, typically two months, as suggested by the original context for similar roles.)

🎯 Rationale for the Role

To guarantee the seamless execution of administrative functions essential for the effective management of the round 1 Azithromycin Mass Drug Administration (AZM MDA) implementation in Gombe State and to ensure the timely conclusion of all vendor and personnel payments, the expertise of an experienced Admin Support (Temporary Assistant, TA) is required. The incumbent will be tasked with reinforcing the Gombe office operations unit.

The existing constraints, including a limited number of staff within the Operations Unit coupled with a significant workload, can potentially lead to an increase in staff stress and prolonged response times. Consequently, there is an urgent need to bring on board an Admin Support (TA). This engagement aims to alleviate the existing workload, expedite the finalization of critical administrative processes to enable complete documentation and subsequent payment of vendors, and effectively resolve any pending administrative tasks.

Purpose of the Assignment

The primary objective of the Admin Support Staff is to furnish essential administrative and operational backing to the Operations Unit of the Gombe State office.

  • Document Management: Tasks involve the review, scanning, and printing of necessary support documents for all AZM MDA-related procurement activities and payment processing.
  • Filing and Record Keeping: Ensuring the meticulous and proper filing of all AZM MDA-related support documentation required for payments.
  • System Maintenance: Maintaining a thoroughly up-to-date filing and documentation system, covering both hard (physical) and soft (electronic) copies, for all project administrative records.
  • Inventory Control: Maintaining a precise inventory of project materials, general stationery, and supplies, thereby ensuring strict accountability.

Why You Need an Online MBA

Photo credit: Under30ceo.com While securing an MBA degree can open the door to high-paying positions in the corporate world, it will also beneficial for an entrepreneur. Yearly, professionals from all works of life in Nigeria research for the right schools for an MBA degree. While some take to full-time MBA programmes, others opt for Part-time or distance-learning MBA degree. In my own view, it is better to opt for an Online or Part-time MBA course than the full-time. The difference between the two is that in the full-time, the student is required to be physically present at campus site, while in the Online or distance-learning category, the student has his training and course delivery done via online media such as the internet.
