The Service Organization at Siemens is actively seeking a highly driven and self-motivated Commercial Expert to join its dynamic team. This role mandates the assumption of responsibility for all commercial aspects and project financials related to Service Orders. The Commercial Project Manager will act as the essential financial partner to the sales and project management organizations, ensuring robust financial governance and strategic input.

The position is situated within a fast-paced environment where the Commercial Project Manager's financial expertise is critical, impacting the bid, proposal, and subsequent contract execution processes.


How the Commercial Project Manager Makes an Impact

The Commercial Project Manager performs a crucial function within the Gas Services unit by executing the following key responsibilities:

  • Financial and Commercial Negotiation: Reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating the financial and commercial components of internal and external customer proposals, including Master Frame Agreements.
  • Cost and Pricing Accuracy: Collaborating closely with the Sales Lead and Project Manager to ensure the accuracy of cost and pricing calculations throughout contract negotiations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Upholding strict compliance with accounting rules, specifically IFRS 15 and local GAAP, alongside adherence to Legal, Compliance, Tax, Foreign Exchange regulations, and established business models.
  • Financial Planning and Reporting: Conducting monthly project financial forecasting and reporting. This includes assessing and effectively communicating potential risks and opportunities regarding financial impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contractual Achievement: Ensuring the achievement of all contract requirements. This involves providing support for elements such as performance guarantees, FX hedging, insurances, and taxes.
  • General Ledger Activities: Performing various general ledger tasks, including processing project-related journal entries and completing balance sheet account reconciliations. The role also provides necessary support during Internal and External Audits.
  • Project Commercial Support: Working in collaboration with Project Managers to deliver comprehensive commercial support for all assigned projects, strictly adhering to PM@SE guidelines and contractual agreements.
  • Full Commercial Ownership: Assuming responsibility for all commercial aspects and project financials, encompassing monthly revenue recognition, detailed forecasting, proactive risk and opportunity management, capturing lessons learned, and optimizing profit margins and cash flow.

What the Commercial Project Manager Brings

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: Possessing a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in Business Administration or Finance, with a preference for experience gained in Project Execution environments.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Demonstrating excellent communication skills, coupled with the proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team-oriented setting.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Portuguese and English is required. Proficiency in a third language would be considered beneficial.
  • Mobility: The ability to travel is a requirement of the position.
  • Technical Knowledge: Mandatory knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, specifically in percentage of completion (PoC) accounting, is essential. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SAP is also required.
  • Leadership: Previous leadership experiences are preferred attributes for this role.
