Job Summary
The Bank Teller occupies a crucial front-line position
within the Bank, primarily responsible for the accurate and efficient
execution of a variety of banking transactions. The Teller serves as the
key point of contact for many customers, embodying the Bank's commitment to
excellent service and operational integrity.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the
following critical functions:
- Processing
Transactions: Efficiently process daily cash deposits, withdrawals,
cheque encashments, and various other essential teller transactions for
the Bank's clients.
- Customer
Service Excellence: Consistently provide an exceptional level of
professional service to all customers, addressing inquiries and resolving
routine issues while promoting a positive banking experience.
- Compliance
and Verification: Diligently verify customer identification and ensure
the accuracy of all processed transactions, strictly adhering to all
internal banking procedures and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
- Cash
Management: Effectively handle and manage a designated cash float,
meticulously maintaining and balancing the teller cash drawer at the close
of each business day.
- Record
Keeping: Accurately document all transactions and maintain detailed
records in compliance with the Bank's operational standards.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective applicants must meet the following criteria to
be considered for this vital role:
- Attention
to Detail and Numerical Accuracy: A demonstrated high degree of
meticulousness and precision in handling numerical data and transactions
is absolutely essential.
- Interpersonal
and Communication Skills: Possessing excellent verbal and written
communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities, to
interact effectively and courteously with a diverse customer base and
colleagues.
- Prior
Experience (Advantageous): Previous professional experience as a bank
teller or substantial experience in a high-volume cash handling role would
be considered a significant advantage.
- Educational
Qualification: A minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND),
National Certificate in Education (NCE), Higher National Diploma (HND), or
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in fields such as Accounting,
Banking, Finance, or other closely related disciplines from a
recognized institution.
