🍻 Job Title: Inventory Clerk

Location: Hong, Adamawa

Job Type: Full-time

Summary of the Role

The Inventory Clerk plays a critical role in the management of all Finished Goods (FG) and raw materials inventory within the logistics supply chain. The core purpose of this position is to ensure that product quality standards are consistently met and that all activities are in strict compliance with all inventory governance processes and controls. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all physical movements of inventory are accurately reflected in the SAP system, and for investigating, resolving, and reporting any inventory differences.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

FG Quality Management

The Inventory Clerk is tasked with upholding stringent quality controls, which includes:

  • Adhering to inventory quality fundamental standards as stipulated by DPO & VPO requirements.
  • Accurately blocking inventory in SAP and ensuring a physical blocking mechanism is in place for quality-related and obsolescence stock, following VPO/DPO standards.
  • Managing all inventory salvages, ensuring they are re-packed as per VPO & DPO standards.
  • Overseeing the decanting of all obsolescence stock according to standard policy and procedure.
  • Ensuring full compliance with the freshness and rotation policy as defined by VPO & DPO standards.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory count records, including quantities, Best Before Dates (BBD), SKU, and clearly displayed bin cards, in line with DPO & VPO standards.
  • Applying and securing approval for the Inventory Concession Policy as per VPO product age standards.

Inventory Management

Responsibilities in inventory management focus on accuracy, reconciliation, and reporting:

  • Conducting independent inventory counts on all inventory and reconciling them to the SAP inventory records. Any inventory count differences must be identified, investigated, resolved, and reported.
  • Accurately and timely processing breakages, obsolescence, and salvages stock in SAP, including obtaining and filing signed-off backup documentation and ensuring SAB reimbursement.
  • Reviewing and resolving all daily controls and open shipments for T1 & T2. All claims must be processed.
  • Reviewing, approving, and signing-off on POC & T2 driver route settlement corrections.
  • Monitoring SCO BUD vs ACT costs and reporting gaps along with proposed action plans.
  • Escalating unresolved inventory count differences to the BLM / DCLM & RLM with relevant commentary and action plans.
  • Accurately transacting all physical movements of inventory in SAP, including validating T1 & T2 movements and Packaging receipts against line counters, and verifying write-offs against signed-off documentation and gate sheets.

Governance and Risk

The role requires adherence to strict governance and security protocols:

  • Ensuring all documentation (e.g., Inventory stock packs, T1 & T2 shipment packs, gate register) is signed-off by relevant persons, filed, and securely stored as per the Inventory Control Policy.
  • Verifying the presence of security cameras at key site points and conducting random verifications.
  • Performing 3-Point independent checks on all T1 & T2 shipments upon departure and arrival, with random checks to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications and Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Sciences.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving ability.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Stock Control environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Stock Control Processes.
