Job Summary
The Office Assistant is tasked with providing
essential administrative support to various teams and departments. The primary
objective of the Office Assistant is to ensure the seamless continuation of
day-to-day operations, thereby allowing the Bank’s core personnel to focus on
their strategic responsibilities. This role requires a high degree of
organization, reliability, and proactive engagement.
Key Responsibilities of the Office Assistant
The successful candidate will be expected to perform a range
of administrative and clerical duties, including:
- Correspondence
and Document Management: Handling incoming and outgoing
correspondence, maintaining organized filing systems, and managing
critical documents efficiently.
- Administrative
Support: Providing robust support to other staff members across
various administrative functions, assisting in the execution of
departmental tasks.
- Office
Resource Management: Taking responsibility for maintaining adequate
stocks of office supplies and ensuring the proper functioning and
maintenance of essential office equipment.
- Scheduling
and Reporting: Actively assisting in the scheduling and coordination
of meetings and appointments, as well as contributing to the preparation
of necessary reports and presentations.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Union Bank is seeking candidates who possess a combination
of strong foundational skills and relevant educational background:
- Organizational
Acumen: Demonstrates strong organizational capabilities and the
ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
(multitasking skills).
- Educational
Background: An educational qualification of OND, NCE, HND, or B.Sc.
in any discipline is required.
- Experience
(Advantageous): While not mandatory, previous experience in an office
administration or clerical support role will be considered a distinct
advantage.
- Communication
Skills: Possesses excellent communication abilities, both written and
verbal, alongside strong interpersonal skills necessary for effective team
collaboration.
