People & Culture Manager: Role Overview

  • Reports to: Managing Director / CEO

The People & Culture Manager is a pivotal, dual-focused role responsible for building, managing, and executing Strivo Labs' comprehensive people strategy, both internally and externally. This position strategically integrates core Human Resources (HR) operations—including recruitment, learning & development, and employee engagement—with crucial client-facing responsibilities in talent placement and training. The ideal candidate must possess an innate passion for people development, exceptional organizational acumen, and the proven ability to seamlessly balance a vibrant culture-building agenda with efficient operational management.


Key Responsibilities

1. People Operations & Compliance

The Manager is expected to:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee robust HR policies, systems, and processes engineered to sustain a high-performance culture.
  • Maintain meticulous accuracy in employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance department to ensure precise payroll administration, benefits management, and strict adherence to all relevant labour laws.
  • Expertly manage the complete employee life cycle, including sophisticated processes for onboarding, probation management, structured performance reviews, and professional exit management.

2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

The Manager will drive talent efforts by:

  • Leading the full-cycle recruitment process for all internal roles: encompassing sourcing, rigorous screening, interviewing, and successful onboarding.
  • Strategically building and maintaining a powerful, quality-focused pipeline of Digital Partners and Lifted talent for essential client placements.
  • Designing and executing innovative recruitment campaigns and strategic partnerships to consistently attract high-calibre candidates.
  • Implementing and monitoring critical recruitment metrics such as time-to-hire, quality-of-hire, and retention rates to optimize talent acquisition effectiveness.

3. Training & Professional Development

The Manager is responsible for cultivating expertise through:

  • Designing and delivering impactful internal training programs specifically tailored to enhance staff capabilities and skills mastery.
  • Coordinating and facilitating crucial leadership development initiatives and specialized skills-based training sessions.
  • Developing detailed training modules for talent assigned to client placement projects, ensuring they are fully prepared and ready for their assignments.
  • Continuously monitoring and analyzing training outcomes to facilitate content refinement and continuous improvement.

4. Employee Engagement & Culture

The Manager will champion a positive workplace by:

  • Actively fostering a vibrant, inclusive culture that deeply values innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Implementing regular, effective engagement initiatives, including structured team check-ins, comprehensive staff surveys, and meaningful recognition programs.
  • Planning and executing memorable company events, team retreats, and impactful wellness activities.
  • Serving as a trusted and accessible partner for all employee relations matters, adeptly resolving conflicts and providing proactive support for staff wellbeing.

5. Talent Placement & Client Support

The Manager will deliver external value by:

  • Consulting with clients to thoroughly understand their talent requirements, skill gaps, and unique team culture.
  • Matching internal and external talent precisely to client roles across a full spectrum of seniority levels.
  • Overseeing all client-facing aspects of the talent journey, including onboarding, systematic performance monitoring, and comprehensive feedback systems.
  • Providing expert advisory services to clients on strategic workforce development and talent retention strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree is considered a significant advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in HR, People Operations, or related strategic roles.
  • Demonstrated, verifiable success in core areas including recruitment, corporate training design/delivery, and robust culture-building.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices (experience with Nigerian and/or UK employment contexts is preferred).
  • Prior experience working within tech, consulting, or professional services firms is highly desirable.
