📌 Role: Talent Manager
Location: Ibese, Ogun State
Role Summary
The Talent Manager is tasked with a critical and
strategic role in overseeing the management and professional development of
talent within the organization. This position holds the primary responsibility
for identifying, cultivating, and ensuring the retention of high-performing
employees, thereby guaranteeing that the organization possesses the
necessary human capital to meet its long-term strategic objectives. The Talent
Manager will serve as a key partner, working in close collaboration with the
Head of HR and various department heads to design, execute, and sustain effective
talent management strategies.
Job Description (Core Responsibilities)
The successful candidate will be expected to perform a wide
range of duties, including:
- Policy
Implementation: Liaising with the Head of HR for the implementation of
talent management policies and procedures, with a specific focus on career
management, performance management, and learning and development.
- Career
Oversight: Overseeing all career management activities within Dangote
Cement Transport (DCT) and providing the requisite guidance to staff in
the execution of their daily tasks and activities.
- Performance
Management: Coordinating the DCT performance management process,
obtaining necessary approvals for, and communicating key outcomes.
Monitoring the performance assessment process across DCT to ensure that
appraisals and feedback from supervisors are completed precisely in line
with the agreed-upon schedule.
- Mentorship
and Development: Driving compliance with the group-approved system for
staff mentorship to promote professional interaction and facilitate the
achievement of staff career development objectives.
- Opportunity
Identification: Overseeing the identification of relevant career
opportunities for staff in collaboration with functional and department
heads, a vital component of robust talent acquisition services.
- Training
& Curriculum: Ensuring optimal adoption of approved training
curricula and plans for DCT. Reviewing (or recommending for management
approval) changes to relevant training documents such as curriculum,
schedule, and plan. Monitoring and ensuring strict compliance with learning
and development policies, procedures, and schedules within DCT.
- Provider
Evaluation: Participating in the thorough evaluation of third-party
training providers and making selection recommendations to the Head of HR
& Administration.
- HR
Coordination: Coordinating and driving necessary actions on
recommendations/decisions regarding employee appointments, redeployments,
relief assignments, and promotions across the country.
- Data
Oversight: Overseeing the provision of approved staff performance
results/information on promotion to the Compensation & Benefits unit
for comprehensive expenditure analysis and necessary incorporation.
- Needs
Assessment: Overseeing collation and review of learning and
development requirements for employees across all job grades and functions
to ensure clear alignment with job competency requirements and to
accurately identify performance gaps.
- General
Duties: Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of HR &
Administration.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- A
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline is required.
- A Master's
degree in an HR-related discipline is highly preferred and beneficial.
Experience
- A
minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience is mandatory
for this senior role.
- A
professional qualification in HR Management, such as Senior
Professional in HR (SPHR) or the Chartered Institute of Personnel
Management (CIPM), will be considered a significant added advantage.
