Senior Technical Services Engineer

Rate: € 45 to € 65 K (Permanent) + Bonus and benefits

A great opportunity for a Senior Technical Services Engineer to join a global communications technology company, specialising in the design, engineering and supply of technology supporting triple and quad-play broadband services for residential and business customers. Reporting into the Technical Services Manager for Europe, the Senior Technical Services Engineer provides technical service to our customers, for our products or, our partner’s products in the European market. The Senior Technical Services Engineer will work as part of a team of 12 based out of the office in Amsterdam. Possible travel throughout Europe and on-call support may be required.

Main Activities: 

Post-sales Technical Support, remote or at customer site
Professional Services and Consultancy – Fault reproduction and trouble shooting, performing root cause analysis
Technical trial support and field validation
Mentoring of technical services engineers and other colleagues
Presales engineering

Technical Skills/knowledge:

Docsis/Eurodocsis
Packetcable/Europacketcable
Digital Television, Video on demand, switched digital video.
General CATV/ICT networking, HFC, IPTV, Data networking, TCP/IP, Routing protocols
Network management
Telecommunication Networks, VoIP
Proficient with: Unix, Windows, Linux, Oracle

Personal:

Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
5 years + relevant experience.
Fluent in English, written and verbal
Strong customer relation skills, analysis and judgement, coaching/mentoring.
