A UK-based client is seeking a Customer Project Manager to operate out of Asia. This individual will work independently. The primary role of the Customer Project Manager is to scope, define and agree to project plans with customers and execute to those plans using Professional Services resource ensuring the project remains on time and to budget.

Typical projects are products trials and product customisations.

These projects are typically of a short-medium term duration and are likely to be in geographically spread locations, so a willingness to travel is a key requirement for this role.

There is a need to liaise with the customer on a regular basis and manage all aspects of network trials, from initial requirements through various lab phases and final acceptance leading to First Office Application.

The role will also take the opportunity of covering other secondary general project management duties within the Professional Services team such as change request management.

Responsibilities:

-Scope definition and agreement of activities plan; ensure the plan stays on time and to budget with regular reporting
-Manage a small team of technical engineers through the lab phases of the activities related to product trials and products introduction
-Primary management contact for the trials plan and deliverables, new requirements, issues, risks and escalation.
-Regular status reporting and communication with the key stakeholders on the overall project including the customer
-Ensure successful product trials are handed over to the support organisation with all the required dependencies resolved and in place
-Secondary support on other Professional Services Project Management tasks e.g. Project exception handing, ensuring Project Server has up to date plans, Change Requests

Role Requirements:

-Excellent Project Management skills ideally with a formal Project Management accreditation (Prince2, PMP etc)
-Ability to grasp complex technology issues. so must have a technical background in software or hardware development ideally based on wireless technologies
-Commercial awareness and understands how to construct or interpret a Business Case
-Must show a good understanding of project management methods, planning skills, highlight reporting and ability to demonstrate risk and issue management
-Excellent communications skills and must show and ability to be a pragmatic advocate of the trial needs
-Pragmatic and flexible in approach to business operations and willing to travel as needed in the context of the tasks assigned
