A Datacentre Design Engineer is required immediately to assist with the design for firewalls, load balancers and datacentre infrastructure for a major international Cable provider supporting over 5.5 residential customers.

Main responsibilities and experience:

• Design for firewalls, loadbalancers and datacenter infrastructure
• In-depth knowledge of firewall and load balancer technologies and application of these in large ISP networks, datacenters and video headends: F5, Radware ADC & Altheon, Crossbeam, Checkpoint, A10, Juniper
• In-depth knowledge of datacenter concepts, technologies and storage-area network solutions, such as: network switches (Nexus, Juniper), virtualization, distributed storage systems, databases, datacenter management etc.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of firewall and loadbalancer types
• Ability to understand product and technology drivers and translate into datacenter infrastructure design
• Understanding of network services like DHCP, DNS, Radius, Tacacs, NTP, SNMP, Active Directory, LDAP
• Understanding of routing protocols and traffic engineering technologies in large networks, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies and protocols, such as: VLANs, STP, G.8032, LAG, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, MPLS L2/L3 VPN, MPLS-TE, IPSEC etc.
• Understanding of IDS & DDOS mitigation technologies used in datacenter applications
• Good oral and written English communication skills and team-working attitude
