📋 Job Summary

The Document Controller holds a critical position responsible for the rigorous management of the airline's essential documentation. This includes managing fleet manuals, company procedures, and all operational documentation crucial for safe and compliant air travel. The role involves coordinating all library activities, maintaining a robust centralised documentation control system and electronic database, efficiently distributing technical information, managing the specialized cockpit library aboard the aircraft, and contributing significantly to quality and safety compliance through audits and timely notifications. This function is vital to United Nigeria Airlines' commitment to operational integrity.


📝 Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to execute the following responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner:

  • Responsible for the comprehensive management and control of all fleet manuals, company procedures, and operational work instructions.
  • Develop and manage an electronic central database system dedicated to cataloging and storing all manuals and technical information acquisitions.
  • Receive, update, and ensure the accurate distribution of incoming technical information to all necessary end-users and departments.
  • Manage and maintain the cockpit library documentation present aboard the aircraft fleet.
  • Timely notification to the Quality and Safety Manager regarding required document inspections and reviews.
  • Actively participate in quality auditing and safety inspections, including meticulous follow-up on corrective actions implemented.
  • Ensure the overall coordination of all library activities, including the receipt and distribution of documents, proper shelving and cataloging, tracking of loans and dispatches, and maintaining strict control over all library collections.
  • Develop and maintain a centralised documentation control procedure that governs the management of all company data and records.

🏅 Experience and Qualifications

United Nigeria Airlines seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with the following qualifications:

  • Education: Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in any discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience, preferably within a regulated industry like aviation.
  • Attributes: The candidate must be honest and hardworking, demonstrating a strong work ethic.
  • Teamwork: Must be an effective team player capable of collaborating across departments.
  • Resilience: The ability to effectively work under pressure and manage high-volume tasks is essential.
