Education:

• First Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
• A Post Graduate degree or an MBA would be an added advantage
Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ Experience in similar position within the upstream sector of an Oil and Gas and must be CIPM or CIPD certified.
Purpose:
• This position is responsible for developing HR strategies in alignment with the Organization’s Business strategies to produce superior performance and growth by developing standard, repeatable systems, processes, and capabilities that make it fast and easy for the company to enter upstream business and to enhance its growth strategy with staffing models that fit a modern workforce.
• The Candidate for this position is to team up with other Senior business leaders to ensure alignment of the responsibilities as indicated below to achieve the strategic corporate vision of the organization with year on year delivery of business targets.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Develop HR direction, People policies, standards and processes for an inclusive and harmonious workplace within the Exploration and Production Organization.
• Prepare and check appropriate frameworks & plans are in place for People processes including: Resourcing and Recruiting, Performance and Reward, People Engagement/ Organisational Effectiveness, Learning and Development, Leadership Development and Senior Executive succession planning, HR Information Systems and HR Business Planning and functional excellence.
• Direct the design and implementation of people-oriented initiatives and processes as listed above. Provide advice and counsel to the board on HR related issues. Manage the staff talent review, resourcing and appointment process and chair HR Council while representing the Company on HR related committees in the industry.
• Monitor and report to the Board on the effectiveness of processes and initiatives, costs relating to both the HR Function and overall people costs while keeping MD, COO and the board appropriately informed on developing key human resources trends and issues.
• Develop and maintain the Company Appraisal System and Strategy Review appraisal for HR & business.
• Responsible for HR Business Assurance process and Plan, obtain assurance on issues arising from Business Control reports and audit reviews and submit a business assurance report annually to the Board.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and also serve as Liaison to external HR professional organizations to enable benchmarking and best practice sharing in HR Community within the upstream sector of Oil and Gas.
• Identify and manage HR related issues that may affect the reputation of the business.
• Support the board with plans and recommendations for staff development and succession planning and maintaining a cadre of highly motivated, professionally excellent HR staff to support the business strategy.

Our Client, a leading Nigerian independent integrated energy company, currently playing in the downstream sector of the Petroleum Industry now wishes to set up an E&P Company with the aim of acquiring, developing and producing oil & gas assets safely and efficiently for the benefits of all stakeholders. The company aspires to grow in Nigeria and rapidly expand to the Gulf of Guinea, South and East Africa over the next ten years.
